Good afternoon El Oro Way! This is Ms Choi, the Principal of our amazing learning community with our November updates. There was a small but substantial gathering last night for the PTA General Association Meeting—thank you to those who came! Parent Conferences and Minimum Day dismissals started today to kick off the Veterans’ Day 3 day weekend. Minimum Day dismissals will continue next week on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 12:45 pm each day. Tuesday dismissal will continue to be 1:43 pm. Tuesday, November 14th at 8:30am there will be a Parent Volunteer Training. As you know, this is a required training for parents who wish to volunteer. On Wednesday, November 15th at 8:30 a.m., there will be a Parent Center Training called Motivating Kids Toward Success through Growth Mindset. The current body of research on developmental psychology pioneered by Carol Dweck will be summarized for your application in your parenting. Thursday, November 16th will an exhibition day for the YMCA Psychomotor Program, brought to you by the PTA Eagle’s Nest. Parents are welcome to come and watch—please refer to the schedule sent home with students to find your child’s time in this YMCA Olympics. This will be followed by the PTA Restaurant of the Month event with the In n out truck. School will be closed the entire week of Thanksgiving, and will resume on Monday November 27th. That Monday at 3pm, the English Learner Advisory Committee, School Site Council, and Charter Governance Councils will meet in the school’s conference room. I hope that you will all enjoy the long weekend.
