Summer Update #1
Posted 8/3/22

Hello El Oro Way Charter for Enriched Studies Learning Community,

This is Principal Choi. We’re excited about the start of the 2022-23 school year on August 15. We look forward to having everyone back on campus, learning together as we begin a new year.

I also wanted to remind families that the Los Angeles Unified School District released our 2022-26 Strategic Plan. For the next four years, Los Angeles Unified will focus on a singular goal: to ensure ALL students graduate READY FOR THE WORLD - to thrive in college, career and life. We are committed to providing quality instruction that meets the needs of all students, focusing on social-emotional wellness and collaborating with our families so that our entire extended community may contribute toward student success.  Please take a look and learn more about the District’s Strategic Plan by visiting achieve.lausd.net/strategicplan.

We are partners in your child’s education, and we will learn and grow together to ensure the success of our future leaders.

In preparation for the new school year, please review and follow the below COVID-19 protocols to help ensure the safest possible learning environment for all Los Angeles Unified students and employees.

It is recommended, but not required, for students to test within 48 hours of entering campus for the first day of school. Please note we are distributing rapid antigen tests to all students between Monday, August 8, 2022 and Thursday, August 11, 2022 in front of the Main Office, 8am - 4pm. These tests have varying expiration dates, however, they are authorized for use beyond their expiration date by the California Department of Public Health, see letter in English and Spanish

We recommend you administer the rapid test provided by your school within 48 hours of the first day of school.

Students who test NEGATIVE:

  • No further action is required
  • Do not upload to Daily Pass
  • Attend school

Students who test POSITIVE

  • Isolate immediately/ DO NOT attend school
  • Contact a doctor to make a plan for care, and
  • On a separate paper, write down the following information and take a picture.

For assistance with uploading test results, please contact the Family Help Desk at 213-443-1300, Monday-Friday, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.  We look forward to your participation in our exciting school programs this year.
